These beautiful earrings are hand made using sterling silver. The backplate was textured, oxidised, and even melted (carefully!) to reflect the natural shaping of the ammonites, which are held securely in place using a double claw setting. Due to the treatment the silver received, it looks like it could be slate behind the ammonites!
They feature the traditional harp hallmark from Dublin’s assay office (https://www.assay.ie/hallmarking/hallmarks-explained/optional-hallmarks/), as well as my makers mark (ANN) and the compulsory silver marks.
